Section  3 -  Experiential Growth
Lesson  3  of  3

  1. You make countless choices every day – many quite automatic (checking out at the grocery, choosing clothing, greeting strangers, choosing a route to the office).  Today, pause at five such moments of choice.  Grab the wheel from your automatic pilot and ask, “Is this choice aligned with my ecological values?”  “How might this simple choice ‘go beyond me’ impact the entire family of life?” Renounce mindlessness!

  2. We have presented mindless choices and core beliefs as candidates for reunification. Reflect upon what strategies in your commitment to matters ecological don’t seem to work. Did you win people over with that latest social media argument?

I.D.E.A.

We don’t see the world as it is.  We see the world as we are.  If you’re like me, your immediate worldview likely includes some manicured grass, recycling containers, a bee house or two, and the occasional deer (maybe even a raccoon).  If you’re like me, you don’t have a comprehensive concept of life on the planet!  Today, spend 30 minutes immersing yourself in a geography, a people, a culture entirely new for you.  A documentary, a sociologist’s blog, or even a Google search can meet this challenge.
